'Prayers I Didn't Pray' by We the Least: A Heartfelt Tribute to Prayers Others Prayed for Us

We the Least released a song called 'Prayers I Didn't Pray.' It's one of those songs that gets you thinking and realizing the value that prayers have, spoken by the special people in our lives for us and over us. People who have been prayed tirelessly for us throughout our lives, shaping us into who we are today. Yes, that is how powerful the prayers can be that others are praying for us! You too have the ability to pray for others, and make a difference! With that in mind, this song also becomes a beautiful reminder to also thank God for all of the prayers that we didn't dare to speak, but others were praying for us.

We the Least - Prayers I Didn't PrayThe opening lines of this song are what I call a 'yes, indeed'-moment: 'Long before I ever got here // Mom and dad folded hands for a year // Asking Heaven for one of their own to share life with. // I didn't ask for this, but I'm so glad that they did.' It's so true, and there are more prayers said for us that we are completely unaware of. Prayers by parents that we make the right choices. And what do you think about praying for a faithful spouse, and praying for a future together: 'Long before I even met her, She asked you if we'd end up together. If I was the one who'd be there through the good and the worst of it. No I didn't ask for this, but I'm so glad that she did.' Praying for each other makes a huge difference in relationships.

We all need a reminder from time to time of God's unwavering care: 'The thing I find most sweet is you take care of me, Despite how tired and distant I can be.' Even when words fail us, God's grace and kindness don't change.

So, take a moment and listen to 'Prayers I Didn't Pray'. May this song open your eyes to the unseen blessings and the power of prayer that is shaping our lives, and maybe even more important, the blessing others will receive from the 'prayers they didn't pray'.

Finding True Belonging: 'Home to You' by Jesse Bless

Jesse Bless's "Home to You" is a heartwarming and spirit-lifting song that touches on three themes: belonging, love, and spiritual discovery. Jesse is a single foster parent, and the inspiration for this song came during a weekend respite placement with a 10-year-old boy in foster care. The boy wanted to write a song about a child who runs away from home, and when he returns, he discovers that there are different people in his home.  The lyrics of this song tell the story of a child searching for a place to call home, a search that also mirrors our own search for refuge and belonging in Christ. The verses start with expressing loneliness and struggle, and the chorus is where hope is ignited. As the song continues, the voice of fear finally quiets as we discover what we're supposed to do. We just have to get "home to You" . "Home to You" is a call to action. We all in some way need to run away from parts of our lives and find our true Home. May you ...

'Lonely Dirt Road' by Dax: A Journey to Solitude and God

Dax's 'Lonely Dirt Road' is a conversation that Dax has with himself and God. Dax shares his journey of turning mental health walks into healing solitary drives. As you listen, you can almost feel the cruise, where it's just you, your thoughts, and God.  The chorus is so relatable: 'When I need space, that's where I go, a place to escape that nobody knows.' What do you do when life's pressures stack high? Do you also have a space where you can let go? That lonely dirt road that Dax sings about symbolizes solitude, but it is also an incredible opportunity for connecting with God.  Dax's honesty is raw and relatable. 'I didn't want my family to see me cry… dealing with the pressure of trying to provide.' There are times when we all put on a smile to hide how challenging situations may be. Like his father, Dax says that he finds peace on this lonely road, where challenges become opportunities to grow. This shows the core of our faith: that...
