Shine Your Light with Runaverse's 'Keep On'

Runaverse's 'Keep On' is a beautiful song about faith as source of strength and perseverance when dealing with life's ups and downs. Runa (artist name: Runaverse) was walking at night through the countryside, under a starlit sky, searching for the right words to use in this song. That's when it all started to come together, like a whisper from the Holy Spirit, turning the melody and lyrics into her story of faith and perseverance.

Runaverse - Keep OnRuna faced her fears head-on, thinking about everything that was going on in her life, drawing strength from Matthew 5:14–16, which encourages us to be the light of the world. 'Keep On' is the track on her debut EP, as well as a personal declaration to shine, regardless of life's challenges. Runa admits she hadn't planned to talk about her faith through music, fearing it might offend some. But, in the midst of the hardship she was facing, her resolve strengthened, as she poured her heart into the lyrics as the dawn approached.

'Keep on / Even in the dark yeah / Keep on (keep on) / Don’t be afraid tonight my dear,' a reminder that God is always with us and that it is He who strengthens us so we can come out of these challenges victorious. God never promised us an easy life. He never promised that we wouldn't suffer, that we wouldn't feel despair, loneliness, confusion, or desperation. What he did promise was that in our suffering we would never be alone.

He encourages us to face our suffering with hope and let our light shine without fear.

'Keep On' is an invitation to look beyond the dark moments in life, to trust God, and shine your light (His light through you) for others walking similar paths. Give 'Keep On' a listen. May its message encourage you, and maybe, just like Runa, help you to find strength to keep shining your light.

"In the Room" by Matt Maher feat. Chris Brown: A Heartfelt Desire for Divine Presence

Matt Maher's collaboration with Chris Brown, 'In the Room,' is a soul-stirring Christian song that encapsulates the profound longing to witness transformative moments in the presence of God. The lyrics express the desire to be present when God's power touches broken hearts, ignites faith, and brings healing. The song's verses convey a yearning for those irreplaceable instances when heaven and earth intersect, leading to changed hearts and restored lives. The chorus's declaration, ' I just wanna be in the room when You move,' beautifully encapsulates the eagerness to witness God's miraculous work up close. The bridge's vivid imagery of tearing off the roof and pushing through the crowd reflects the determination to encounter God, no matter the obstacles. The repetition of the bridge emphasizes the earnest plea to witness God's breakthroughs and freedom. 'In the Room' is an invitation to be part of moments that are greater than oneself...

"Your Love" by Kevin Winebarger - When Mercy Becomes Your Identity

Kevin Winebarger teamed up with Joshua Frerichs and Benji Cowart to create this beautiful song. "Your Love" tackles that discouraging voice we all hear from time to time, the one that whispers that we're not enough and that we are defined by our past. "Once a liar, always a liar," and all kinds of variations along this same line of thought. This song isn't about wallowing in shame. "Your Love" is a celebration of the grace that changes everything.  The opening lines hit hard: "I could believe that I'm not enough // It's clear to see I don't measure up." Yep, we've all been there! But this isn't how God want us to be defined… He loved us first! "It's just what You've done // Because of Your love." That's the heart of everything.  Kevin places the change the God brings into perspective, "I could believe that my mistakes // Will follow me down into the grave // But I'm not who I was....

Skillet - Valley of Death (CCM)

Skillet has released a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) track called Valley of Death. The global health crisis of the last two years has led to numerous questions regarding why bad things happen to good people. Skillet's John Cooper explains why he believes God allowed the pandemic to happen. Skillet has released their new album Dominion through Atlantic Records last Friday (Jan. 14). A discussion with 'Loudwire Nights' host Toni Gonzalez brought up the track "Valley of Death," which contains the lyrics: "Someone said this is all part of the plan / But I don't understand." Gonzalez then asked him why he thinks God would allow a pandemic. This is what Cooper said: "Well, the first answer is that we're not good people. We're all fallen and we are all in desperate need of salvation through Jesus. So, we're not actually good people, we all do bad stuff. We all cheat, we've all lied, we're all greedy and as much as the most lov...
