"May They Be Redeemed" by Folk Hymnal: Reflecting on the Gospel’s Truth

"May They Be Redeemed" is a retelling of the 'bigger' Christian story and challenges us to really think about this message and what it means to us. From the creation—"All had been made perfectly"—to the fall of mankind at the tree where "cons and lies" took hold, the song captures both the beauty of creation and the brokenness of our present world. The song then moves to Christ's redemptive gift to us—"God came to the tragedy, a ransom for the unjust"—and concludes with the hope we all may have in His return, the time when "pain and death will no longer reign."

Folk Hymnal - May They Be RedeemedThe song challenges and makes you ask yourself the question, "is this my story? Is it really true?" The song is inspired by Frederick Buechner's description of the gospel as a "fairy tale that claims to be true," and we see this in the lyrics as gentle nudges to reflect and decide: "Let this story ring true, let it sing for me and you," followed by a recurring plea, "May they be redeemed."

May this song spark introspection and help you find answers to questions about life's meaning and your place in God's story. Does this story ring true? If so, then "let it sing for me and you."

"Holy Flame" by Josh Grove - Talented Young Voice Inspires with Worship

Have you already heard Josh Grove's new song, "Holy Flame"? It's an upbeat worship song written and performed by Josh, and what makes this release even more intriguing is that Josh is a super talented 15-year-old singer-songwriter. He first shared this song at a youth event, and the response was so amazing that he was signed up by NRT. This release is the studio version. The song is all about the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, and celebrates God's constant goodness and grace. The lyrics remind us that He is with us in every moment, day, or night, through both joy and hardship.  With lyrics like "I see You rising like a wave // I see Yo u falling like the rain," Josh emphasizes that we can see God in every situation. He's right there with us through all of our ups and downs, offering us hope and ready to guide us (if we reach out and listen). "You're by my side // Until the end of time." What I also find very exciting is that i...

Matthew Parker, Jacob Stanifer - Bird's Eye View (CCM)

'Bird's Eye View' is a fresh, upbeat, and thought-provoking song that brings us back to the fundamental question of life, wisdom, and the desire to understand more about God. This song is a testament to the power of music to inspire and challenge us.  Matthew Parker and Jacob Stanifer have created a song that speaks to the hearts of listeners and encourages us to look to the Lord for guidance and wisdom. The lyrics are a plea to God for a clearer, deeper perspective on life and the world around us. The refrain, 'I just want to see the world like you, [with your] bird’s eye view” is a powerful reminder of our own limitations and the need for a higher perspective. The chorus and bridge both express a desire for change, for a new direction and a whole new perspective. This song is a call to trust in God, to believe in his vision for our lives, and to allow him to lead us on a journey of discovery. 'Bird's Eye View' is a song that we believe will inspire you, e...
